Teeth Whitening
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Whitening your teeth is a safe process when you follow product guidelines and instructions. The team at Steelecroft Dental offers professional whitening treatments for safe, effective results. You can get your teeth whitened in just one appointment or gradually with a take-home teeth whitening kit.
No matter which course of treatment you choose, the professional whitening solution is entirely safe to place on your teeth and in your mouth. The only discomfort you may experience is temporary tooth and gum sensitivity from the bleaching agents.
What's involved in an in-office whitening procedure?
A simple in-office teeth-whitening procedure could make your teeth up to eight shades brighter after just one appointment.* At your appointment, an experienced Steelecroft Dental team member will fit upper and lower dental trays into your mouth. These trays will be filled with a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel.
Your practitioner will then cover your lips and gums to protect them from the powerful whitening solution. After filling the trays with the bleaching solution, they position a specialized bright light over your teeth. You sit back and relax as the bleach and light work together to whiten your teeth for three 15-minute treatments in a single visit.
You wait comfortably between treatments until your final bleaching treatment is complete, then your dental expert covers your teeth in a post-treatment gel to reduce any sensitivity you might have after the whitening. Then you're done. You have whiter teeth and a gorgeous smile in about two hours.
The Steelecroft Dental team also offers at-home teeth-whitening kits for a more gradual approach to whitening teeth over a couple weeks.
